New funding now available for sport in Brent

We are delighted to announce the launch of our Winter 2023 grants round, supporting the delivery of sports and physical recreational activities in LB Brent.

Our priority in this grants round is to fund community groups based within the borough of Brent that are delivering sports activities for local people.

Full details of the funding available can be found on the “How to Apply” page of this web site, including the links to the application forms and a comprehensive and fully-updated Frequently Asked Questions section, which should provide all the information you need to make your application.  However, if anything is still unclear, please get in touch either at info@wnst.org.uk or tel 07944 518065.

WNST CEO, Stewart Goshawk said,

“We are delighted to be able to launch this new round of funding for sport in LB Brent.  The WNST trustees are keen to maintain their investment into the borough, started ten years ago and to continue developing the breadth and quality of sports services in the borough.

The significant number of events that took place at Wembley Stadium over the summer of 2022 has generated a strong level of income for the Trust and we are pleased, for the first time since before the pandemic, to open up our full range of giving in the borough.  And this includes a first ever increase in the size of our Community Awards, which will now make grants of up to £3,000, up from the previous level of £2,500.  We know that the cost-of-living crisis is affecting community organisations as much as anyone.  So hopefully this will help groups meet their rising costs.  Strategic grants up to £25,000 are available as well this time round, for larger organisations.

We’re looking forward to receiving some fantastic applications from local groups, to help local people get even more engaged in sports activities, improving their physical and mental well-being.

Please make sure you get your application to us by the closing deadline of 12th February.”
